Set during th recent the Iraq war, this movie has a basis in fact, making it even more bizarre. Bob Wilton is a journalist looking for a story, he stumbles upon a mind-blowing secret military programme when he mets Lyn Cassady, a man with an amazing story. In the '60s they developed a psychic battalion training and developing a range of far-out techniques to fight the enemy on an entirely different level, known as The New Earth Army. Lyn was a member of this paranormal programme and one of the exercises included trying to stare down a goat and make its heart stop (hence the title).
Bob goes on a crazy mission across the desert with Lyn (not sure whether this is all bogus or fact), his story on the creator of the New Earth Army (and his nemesis within the group) told in flashbacks.
Sure, some poetic license and narrative additions expand the story somewhat, but this is one amazing movie, true or not.
The inclusion of a bonus feature looking at the actual programme is an essential addition which will solidify it for those who reckon its too far fetched, and add more fascinating info for the rest.
